A ‘Speed dating’ event for food producers could create a match made in heaven, say backers of the new Bodnant Welsh Food Centre. Potential local food suppliers are invited to make pitches at Glasdir, Llanrwst on Tuesday and Wednesday January 24-35. Managing director Sandy Boyd and his team are keen to recruit suppliers for the new centre at Furnace Farm, Eglwysbach. Due to open in the spring, the £6m project will showcase the best of Welsh food in its farm shop, tearoom, restaurant and bakery. “Welsh producers should see his suppliers’ event as a great opportunity”, said Alwen Eidda, development manager at event organiser Cywain.
