Hola! Welsh Food & Drink producers head for Alimentaria 2012

Food and drink producers with their eye on the export market are heading for Spain this week, and one of the biggest trade events in Europe – Alimentaria 2012 (March 26-29).

 

A number of Welsh food and drink producers will be exhibiting at the event in Barcelona as part of the Welsh Government’s Wales the True Taste Pavilion.

 

Held at Fira de Barcelona – Gran Via Venue in the capital of the Catalonia region, Alimentaria 2012 provides an important opportunity for Welsh producers looking to reach and develop markets in Southern Europe.

 

Despite the economic problems in the Eurozone, Spain remains an attractive market for UK food and drink companies and it is the UK’s sixth largest export market for food and drink.

 

Spanish consumers spend around €46 billion of food and drink products, and the biennial exhibition is expected to attract over 140,000 trade visitors.
